Do you have a passion for drawing or storytelling, a desire to create custom characters, or want to improve current character design skills? If the answer is "yes!" then this course is for you.  Character design can be seen everywhere from children’s book illustrations, video games, animated movies, board games, and comic books. Discover the basic techniques of character design through exercises and a personal project during this summer course. Learn about  anatomy, proportions, rhythm and balance in poses, research, and costuming of the human figure to be able to create a variety of characters. With an Emphasis on developing the drawing skills and shape design to create interesting, believable characters, students walk away with techniques to continue building expertise well after the class is over. Required materials list provided.
