Ages 18+ / All Levels / Lydia Middaugh

Begin the satisfying journey into wool applique. Felted wool can be used in place of cotton on any quilt or handmade item that one would appliqué. Perfect the basic button-hole stitch with a “special method” for even stitches on circular forms while completing a floral and leaf patterned round table mat of the instructors design. The pattern includes a variety of stitches and bead accents. This workshop is geared toward curious beginners and those looking to complete a small project while learning new techniques. Full project kit included.

LYDIA MIDDAUGH graduated from Lock Haven University with a degree in Special Education and received a MA from College of St. Rose. Lydia is both a full time teacher at Lowville Academy and a prolific quilter. She has been “called to quilt,” finding inspiration for great designs rooted in life, nature, and humor. She enthusiastically designs, creates, and teaches wool applique to students in her own studio and around Utica.
